Zusammenfassung:
Nonverbal-kommunikative Aspekte sind dominierend sowohl im psychotherapeutischen Therapieprozess als auch in der psychoanalytischen Lernsituation, obwohl darüber wenig gesprochen wird, weil es schwierig ist, diese Erfahrungen in Worte zu fassen und weil die Psychoanalyse nach wie vor ein verbal-dominiertes Verfahren ist. Daher wird die nonverbale Dimension weniger diskutiert und im Vergleich zur verbalen auch als weniger wichtig bewertet. In diesem Beitrag werden vier wichtige Funktionen des Nonverbalen herausgearbeitet: 1. Nonverbale Aspekte dienen als Mittel zum Verstehen und Behandeln des Patienten, 2.nonverbale Kommunikation ist in der psychoanalytischen Ausbildungssituation im Sinne eines integrierten Lernens von Bedeutung, 3.nonverbale Kommunikation spielt eine Schlüsselrolle in der Behandlung von kindlichen Entwicklungsproblemen, 4.nonverbale Kommunikation ist eine Notwendigkeit hinsichtlich der Entwicklung eines angemessenen Erwachsenen-Verhaltens.

Abstract:
Although we don’t talk about it much, a significant portion of both the patient’s healing process in psychoanalysis and the analyst’s learning process about psychoanalysis is mediated through nonverbal aspects of the experience. Because it is difficult to convey the nonverbal experience of psychoanalysis verbally and because so much of psychoanalytic teaching is in the verbal mode, the nonverbal aspects of psychoanalysis tend to be less discussed and less valued than the verbal modes. This paper highlights four important functions of nonverbal communication in psychoanalysis: 1.nonverbal communication is data for the analyst to use to understand and treat the patient, 2.nonverbal communication is a teaching tool for psychoanalytic educators to help their students integrate learning about psychoanalysis, 3.nonverbal communication plays a key role in the patient’s healing of childhood developmental problems, and 4.nonverbal communication is necessary for the patient’s resumption of appropriate adult development.
